Indigo is renowned for a friendly vibe, we welcome everyone from students to professionals, from artists to lawyers.
Many women & queer folk come on their own to Indigo events. For some, it’s their first curious venture into a whole new world, others arrive with friends, colleagues or partners. Everyone is offered the same warm welcome, and a new network of friends.
This October we’ve invited the award-winning singer-songwriter Maddie Morris to join us for an intimate set. Social drinks follow the performance.
MADDIE MORRIS
Maddie Morris is an artist who strives to make a difference in the world.
Bold, insightful & refreshingly unique, this non-binary artist sings us the most gorgeous stories. Whether raising up Marsha P Johnson & her role in the Stonewall Riots or navigating first queer love, when Maddie sings, she has one of those voices you simply never want to end.
Maddie won the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award in 2019. A hit with fans of Grace Petrie, and tipped as the most exciting young artist in the UK right now by Belinda O’Hooley, they’ve also collaborated with Queer Folk, Unlimited, The Bit Collective and Trans Pride Brighton.
Join us to celebrate Maddie’s debut studio album, Skin – a beautifully crafted collection of songs which amplifies the stories of those often marginalised by society.
Passionately political, yet gently understated, this is music that deftly treads the path between art and activism.
